About Best Farm Buys and how we pick deals

Best Farm Buys is a deals board for people who buy gear for a farm, ranch or workshop: tools, livestock supplies, truck and trailer gear, shop equipment and outdoor power equipment. It is run by BestFarmBuys LLC. We don't sell anything and we don't ship anything. Every deal on the board links out to the retailer that sells the product.

How a deal gets on the board

1. We look for markdowns. Leads come from retailer sale and coupon pages and from public deal-sharing sites.
2. We confirm the price on the retailer's own product page. We open the product page, check the sale price and the regular price there, and write down what we saw. If we can't confirm the price on the retailer's page, we skip the deal.
3. We write our own description. The short description under each product name is ours. The photo is the retailer's product photo, and we only list a deal if the photo shows the whole product.
4. We link to the retailer, not to a middleman. Each deal link goes to the retailer's own product page, not to a deal site.
5. We keep a mix. No more than two deals from the same brand are on the board at once. When we can, we list a budget option and a higher-end option for the same kind of tool so you can compare.

What the numbers on a card mean

The large price is the sale price we saw on the retailer's page. The crossed-out price is the regular price shown there. The percent off is worked out from those two prices. Coupon codes, item numbers and end dates in the note under a card come from the retailer's sale or coupon page.

How often it changes

The board is refreshed once a day. At each refresh we re-check the deals that are still listed, drop the ones that no longer qualify and add new ones. The "Updated" time at the top of each page shows when the last refresh finished. Deals usually stay on the board for about two days, so a deal that has left the board may still be available at the retailer. Our weekly roundups keep a record of what we listed each week.

What we don't do

We don't test or review the products we list. Our descriptions are short summaries meant to help you decide whether a deal is worth a click. Prices and stock change quickly, so always confirm the price and details in the retailer's cart before you buy.

How the site earns money
