The milk averages split into 2023 2+ year olds and 2023 yearlings after the 85 goats that we sold at the end of 2023 are: 126 2+ year olds: April 15.1 lb ave, May 15.8 lb ave, June 14.4 lb ave, July 14.7 lb ave, Aug 13 lb ave, Oct 12.2 lb ave 68 yearlings: April 9.9 lb ave, May 11.7 lb ave, June 10.7 lb ave, July 11.8 lb ave, Aug 10.1 lb ave, Oct 10.5 lb ave We strive to have a herd the doesn’t just peak at a high herd average but holds that high average for the majority of the lactation. Our whole herd tested negative for CAE, TB, Brucellosis, and CL in 2016. We tested our entire herd for CAE again in 2023 and they were all still negative. We also practice strict bio security and pasteurize all milk fed to kids. We quarantine incoming animals and test them before they enter the herd. Doelings are $300 at 2-3 weeks old.
